Scream 6 is set to hit the big screen on March 10, 2023, and fans are now wondering if the singer Demi Lovato will be starring among the cast. The speculation comes after Demi took to social media with a Scream-branded announcement, but does this mean she will now feature in a guest role when the horror movie comes to theaters?
Is Demi Lovato in the cast for Scream 6?
Demi Lovato is not in the Scream 6 cast. Instead, the singer has announced a new single called Still Alive ahead of the movie’s release, which will be featured in the slasher flick. The song announcement came complete with spooky artwork, where Demi could be seen posing with Ghostface’s signature knife, leading some to believe that she may have a starring role in the film. Unless there is a huge surprise awaiting audiences, this isn’t the case.
Among the returning cast for Scream 6 are Courteney Cox, Hayden Panettiere, Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown. This will be the first film in the series not to feature Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, after she declined to star because of a pay dispute. Scream 4 star Emma Roberts recently spoke out in support of Campbell, saying it was “ridiculous” not to give her the amount she was worth to return.
Despite this, hype surrounding the movie has maintained at a high level. Scream 6 did suffer a major setback, however, when a major leak hit social media. Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group worked fast to rid Twitter of any clips that spoiled the film’s ending, but those fans who did see it have been left disappointed by the spoilers making their way online. Others believed that the leak may have been deliberate, to stir up conversation about the movie ahead of its release, and that the ending shown isn’t in fact the true conclusion.
