Super Mario Bros. Movie Boots

Real-Life Super Mario Bros. Movie Boots Sadly Aren’t For Sale

A real-life pair of Mario’s signature boots for The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been revealed by Nintendo of America for MAR10 Day. This replica was exquisitely deftly made by Red Wing Shoes, who displayed the footwear at the Nintendo store in New York City at Rockefeller Center. Unfortunately, these cool Mario boots are not for sale (for now at least).

Nintendo not selling these Mario boots is a lost opportunity

Red Wing Shoes confirmed on its official website that the Mario boots “are not for sale” in the fine print at the very bottom of the page. Given the reaction to the boots on Twitter, though, many fans want a pair. So it seems like a lost opportunity if Nintendo and Red Wing Shoes don’t at least auction the boots off. It also feels cruel to show something this cool and shiny to Mario fans without letting them buy it as a collector’s item.

Described as “the official boot of Super Mario Bros. Plumbing,” these real-life “pixel-to-stitch” Mario boots are crafted out of leather and have a reinforced toe box and rounded heels. A three-minute video on the official website showcases how the craftsmen behind Red Wing put the boots together.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie release date has recently been moved by two days, though many are wondering when the movie will air on streaming services like Netflix.
