Dead By Daylight: Nicolas Cage Voiced All Dialogue for His DBD Character

Behaviour Interactive shocked fans last week with the announcement that Nicolas Cage would appear in a future Dead by Daylight DLC pack. Now, we know the acting great will be play himself.

According to game director Mathieu Cote at a recent press event (via PC Gamer), Cage will actually voice himself in the game. Cote mentioned that the team couldn’t put him in the game without his “iconic voice and delivery.” Cage allegedly said “there has never been a voice sound-alike” for him, and Cote noted Behaviour wouldn’t start now.

“He’s got such an iconic voice and delivery. We couldn’t do this without him,” said Cote. “In some cases, for the screams and grunts, we have used different people sometimes because these are extremely strenuous exertions, and they can take a toll on people. But in this case, Mr. Cage told us there has never been a voice sound-alike for Nic Cage, and we will not have one now. So he was generous enough to record every single grunt, scream, and exertion that you will hear in Dead by Daylight.”

What is the Nicolas Cage Dead by Daylight DLC?

The Nicolas Cage Dead by Daylight DLC was announced in a new teaser trailer for the game. It showcased Cage walking out of the shadows, and revealed his in-game appearance. Behaviour promised more information on July 5, 2023. For now, fans will have to speculate on just what Nicolas Cage will do once he arrives in the multiplayer game.

Since its launch in 2016, Dead by Daylight has become a smash hit in the video game world. The game has reached over 50 million players worldwide, with two million active players playing every day. Players try to hide and escape from one killer – also controlled by one human player.

While the game is famous for incorporating a wide variety of horror icons into the game — including characters from A Nightmare on Elm Street, HalloweenThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and more — the game does have its own lore and ongoing story.
