If you’ve been waiting for the next series of Sega Genesis games to be added to Nintendo Switch Online, wait no more. Several classic games have now been added to the library for your nostalgic pleasures.
Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts is just one of four
A recent video from the Nintendo YouTube channel confirms the four Genesis games that’s now available via Switch Online. Action-adventure titles Crusader of Centy and Landstalker, from 1994 and 1992 respectively, are two that have now been added.
However, perhaps the one that many of you will be excited for is Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts, what is largely considered one of the hardest games of all time.
Combined with that is Revenge of Shinobi, another classic game from the 90s Sega era. If you never got the chance to play this side-scrolling ninja beat-em-up before, now’s your chance if you subscribe to the Nintendo service.
We’ve also seen some other classic games come to Switch Online recently, including Harvest Moon and Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble, which was originally released on Game Boy Color back in 2000.
The Nintendo online service is a pretty fantastic one-stop place to play some retro games from back in the day. There are hundreds of titles to choose from at the moment, and plenty more being added regularly.
The chance to dive back into Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts will be appealing to a lot of people who remember the original Sega Genesis version. Many of you older fans out there will recall the punishing gameplay of this classic release. Such unforgiving difficulty would not become mainstream until years later, when From Software came onto the scene.
