As with previous years, proceed from the 2024 edition of Awesome Games Done Quick goes toward supporting the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The PCF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cancer research, education, outreach, and advocacy. The organization hopes to reduce cancer deaths by 40% by 2035 and plans to invest $40 million into that effort. That includes putting $20 million toward research, $10 million toward screening and prevention, and $10 million for education and outreach. Fans can donate to the PCF through the GDQ website during the February event.

GDQ also used the press release to announce its Summer Games Done Quick and Frame Fatales events. SGDQ raises money for Doctors Without Borders and usually takes place sometime between May and August. Meanwhile, Frame Fatales is GDQ’s annual all-women speedrunning marathon. It raises money for the Malala Fund, which helps educate girls in unstable or developing countries. However, GDQ hasn’t announced dates for those events.
